Why did we change the gas connector information from the ring to the nut?
Engraving the nuts on the connector with the information required by ANSI Z21.24 and ANSI Z21.75 Product standards, is a more efficient and permanent means for affixing the information to the connector.

Can a gas connector or gas fitting be re-installed?
No, the product standards and model plumbing codes prohibit it. Products may be damaged during removal or re-installation and may be unsafe for use.

Can BrassCraft gas connectors be used in a gas log application?
Yes. BrassCraft's ProCoat connectors are approved for use in the fireplace or hearth provided they are installed "down" and away from the flame. If you have any concerns, contact a professional plumber licensed to install gas products.

Can BrassCraft gas connectors be used with fuel oil?
No, BrassCraft gas connectors are approved for use with natural, manufactured, mixed, LP (propane) and LP gas mixtures with pressures not exceeding 1/2 PSI.

What are the general certifications for BrassCraft gas connectors?
We are approved and listed to ANSI Z21.24/CSA 6.10 Connectors for Gas Appliances and ANSI Z21.75/ CSA 6.27 Connectors for Outdoor Gas Appliances and Manufactured Homes. BrassCraft gas connectors are also approved and listed by New York City and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

What temperature can our gas connectors be exposed to?
BrassCraft connectors are approved for continual exposure to150 degrees Fahrenheit per ANSI Z21.24 and ANSI Z21.71.

Why do the gas connector fittings have a male thread and female thread?
Gas fitting with internal and external threads can be connected to multiple style appliance stub-outs. For example, a ½” male thread is tapped with a 3/8” female thread, so that it may be connected to a ½” female stub-out or a 3/8” Male stub-out.

Can our gas connectors withstand UV lighting for extended periods?
Yes, our connectors are listed to ANSI Z21.75, which tests for prolonged exposure to UV rays.

Do we offer a gas connector for mobile home installations?
Yes, our CSSC and CSSB connectors are approved and listed to ANSI Z21.75/CSA6.27 for manufactured homes. Either series of connectors can be used for crossover connections (one half of the home to the other) or for connecting the home to the exterior gas supply source. However, our gas connectors are not for use with RV’s.
